Definition is not a hearing aid, it is a passive device that removes distorted frequencies from your ears which makes it better suited for noisy / busy environments.

The shell-like shapes of our ears resonate between 2KHz – 8KHz with an average peak frequency of +21dB @2.7KHz. Sound produced at these frequencies creates a stress response in humans which triggers a cortisol release that damages our ability to perform at our best. Standard earplugs do not address the problem, in fact they make our stress response worse by isolating wearers from their surroundings which also increases cortisol release when the earplugs are removed.

Memory foam tips generally last about 1 month depending on how they are handled, used, and your body chemistry (earwax, oils, etc.). Naturally, frequent use will shorten their lifespan.

To ensure that your tips last as long as possible, we would recommend that you follow our fitting guides and cleaning instructions.

It is important that memory foam tips are regularly inspected for serviceability and are maintained in accordance with our instructions. Be sure to replace your tips when they start to flake, tear, or lose their memory foam properties (e.g. the foam loses its slow rebound time).
